Fossilized Tiger Shark Tooth – 50 Million Years Old
Unearth a relic from Earth’s ancient oceans: an authentic Tiger Shark (Galeocerdo eaglesomi) fossil tooth from the Dakhla region of the Western Sahara. These teeth date back to the early Eocene epoch (approximately 48–56 million years ago), a time when early ancestors of today’s sharks ruled warm prehistoric seas.
Tiger sharks are known for their distinctive, serrated teeth, perfect for slicing through prey — and these fossils preserve that iconic feature. Each tooth exhibits the characteristic asymmetrical shape and fine serrations that made these predators so effective.
- Origin: Dakhla, Western Sahara, Morocco
- Age: Early Eocene (~48–56 million years old)
- Species: Galeocerdo eaglesomi
- Features: Serrated edges, unique shape; some may have minor natural wear or rock matrix still attached
Your fossil is enclosed in a clear jar inside a laser-engraved wood display measuring approximately 5.5" wide. No two teeth are alike — each specimen is a tangible connection to a vanished world, making it an extraordinary addition to any fossil collection or educational display.
