Fossilized Tiger Shark Tooth – 50 Million Years Old
Unearth a relic from Earth’s ancient oceans: an authentic Tiger Shark (Galeocerdo eaglesomi) fossil tooth from the Dakhla region of the Western Sahara. These teeth date back to the Middle to Late Eocene epoch (approximately 38–56 million years ago), a time when early ancestors of today’s sharks ruled warm prehistoric seas.
Tiger sharks are known for their distinctive, serrated teeth, perfect for slicing through prey — and these fossils preserve that iconic feature. Each tooth exhibits the characteristic asymmetrical shape and fine serrations that made these predators so effective.
- Origin: Dakhla, Western Sahara, Morocco
- Age: Middle–Late Eocene (~38–56 million years old)
- Species: Galeocerdo eaglesomi
- Features: Serrated edges, unique shape; some may have minor natural wear or rock matrix still attached
Your fossil is enclosed in a clear jar inside a laser-engraved wood display measuring approximately 5.5" wide. No two teeth are alike — each specimen is a tangible connection to a vanished world, making it an extraordinary addition to any fossil collection or educational display.
