πŸš€ Own a Piece of American Space History πŸš€

During its 22 years of operation, Space Shuttle Columbia flew 28 missions before disintegrating upon reentry at the end of its final flight in 2003. Obtained at auction from the American Space Museum with decommissioning documents and tags, this thermal protection bulb seal flew some time before its removal from the Shuttle in February 1990. The seal was to be later installed in Space Shuttle Discovery (OV-103), but was instead scrapped in 1992.

Each section of space-flown seal is approximately 1.5" x 1/2" in size, enclosed in a protective clear jar, and mounted in a custom wood and acrylic display. A rare opportunity to own a tangible piece of the historical first Space Shuttle Orbiter β€”authentic, storied, and beautifully presented.

Inspection and decommissioning paperwork, along with scrap tags, were obtained with the roughly 5-foot-long thermal bulb seal. We've divided up a small section of the seal so that more people can own a piece of this historical space vehicle.
